So it’s officially that time of year where every single recipe sounds uninspiring and we’ve decided we’re never cooking another day in our lives. Normally, this is when I would turn straight to my Uber Eats app. Thanks to my instagram sponsored ads, however, I came across something a bit more waistline, budget AND eco-friendly.
Daily Harvest is a clean, whole food delivery program that delivers to almost anywhere in the country. They state on their website: “95% of our ingredients are organic and we say *N! O!* to the bad stuff – no fillers, gums, refined sugars, harmful oils, stabilizers or artificial anything is in our food.” So to summarize, it’s the good shit. They offer a variety of different sizes and options, so you can customize your plan entirely. It comes delivered in an insulated box with each item frozen, so you can simply pop it all in your freezer and defrost whenever you want.
To actually order the products, I went on the website and chose a box of 9 to start. I customized it with some smoothies, grain bowls, flatbreads, and then an ice cream and chia bowl. It was all around $40 with the first timer discount. Given that I’ve gone to meals that are that same price, I have to say that their pricing is definitely the best deal ever.
The actual food was delicious and so easy to make. I think the flatbreads (Sweet Potato/Kale and Tomato/Basil) were probably my favorite item. They’re 100% gluten-free and all I had to do was put them in the oven for 20 minutes. The grain bowls and ice cream were also amazing. I did the Sweet Potato Hash and the Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream (completely vegan).
Would I get again? Absolutely. I probably wouldn’t get the chia bowl, as it didn’t mix at ALL and was just chunks of chia seeds- disgusting. I personally loved the smoothies and thought they were super refreshing, but my roommates said they tasted like a liquid salad. So probably some food for thought on my next order. Overall, though, the pricing is amazing, the prep is so efficient for a busy schedule, and almost all of the food is delicious. 10/10 highly recommend.
