TV Shows Worth Binge Watching

Although I love being home over school breaks, I also get a bit bored out of my mind without any school work to do. Ask any of my friends- I am not a TV person. But while I usually turn to podcasts and movies when I’m bored, this break is extra long and, due to quarantine, lacks the usual social time. So, I’ve been forced to commit to something that will take up more time than my usual distractions. These shows are so good, though, that I might actually become a TV person.

The Undoing (HBOMax)

If you like psycho thrillers, or even if you hate them, you have to watch the Undoing. Although it’s a murder mystery, the 6 episode mini series takes place within the affluent circle of manhattan. Think True Detective meets Gossip Girl.

Schitt’s Creek (Netflix)

This truthfully is not my first, nor second time binge watching Schitt’s Creek. Between the hilarious characters, over the top costumes and amazing storylines, I could never get sick of this comedy about a rich family that loses all their money and moves to a town in the middle of nowhere.

The Crown (Netflix)

This historical drama about the royal family definitely has a more serious vibe. I was hesitant to start watching it since it’s my parents favorite show- that screams boring to me. But don’t be fooled because it’s a historical genre. It’s fun, exciting and hooks you from the first episode.

The Queen’s Gambit (Netflix)

Best. Show. On. Television. Every person I know that has watched it is obsessed. It’s a brilliant mini series about an orphan who becomes one of the best chess players in the world. It sounds bland but it’s intertwined with love stories and drugs making it surprisingly vibrant for a show about chess.

The Right Stuff (Disney+)

Once again, a historical drama that’s surprisingly amazing. It’s the first adult show on Disney Plus, and it’s about the first American space launch, Mercury 7. The story itself is super enticing, but it definitely doesn’t hurt that it stars Raymond from Aquamarine 15 years later (not to mention, shirtless in a few episodes).
