Tips for the Ultimate WFH Set Up

Urban Dictionary defines WFH or “Work from Home” as a concept popularized from COVID-19, where everyone is self-quarantined, resulting in many working from home. Over the past seven months, working from home has become something that so many of us have had to adjust to, and for some, like me, this may have been a difficult transition to navigate. However, I have found that by creating my own little work space, my WFH experience has been much more successful and enjoyable.

While the foundation of your space — desk and desk chair — is the first step, the following accessories are items that I have found the most helpful in curating a creative and productive work environment at home.

WFH Office Accessories:

Desk Riser – This is an amazing addition to add more space to sometimes crammed desk setups AND helps adjust poor posture.

Wireless Keyboard + Mouse – When lifting your laptop or using a monitor, these are crucial.

Mouse Pad – I love this mouse pad because of the gel-filled wrist support.

Desk Lamp – In addition to being super cute and going with everything, having a desk lamp is a game changer when working into the wee hours of the night.

Rose Quartz Lamp – This lamp is a luminous take on inviting energy that is crafted from natural rose quartz crystal to bring the love and elevate the vibes even on the most stressful of days.

Charging Hub – This is such a good way to not only charge all of your electronics, but also to keep them organized and available to you whenever you may need them.

Cable Clips – These guys will keep all of your chargers easily accessible at all times. No one likes crouching under the desk to grab a fallen cord.

Folder Sorter – This is a great addition to your desk if you, like me, don’t have a ton of drawer space or a filing cabinet. Keeping documents organized and at the ready is crucial in your WFH space.

Foot Rest – This memory foam foot rest might seem so random, but has been such a game changer for getting comfortable sitting at a desk all day.

To-Do List – I love having this to keep me organized in both my personal and professional life.

Notebook – I prefer using these mini notebooks, because I actually fill the pages up (often using a page a day), and I can always flip back through it to recall something I may have forgotten.

Cork Bulletin Board – Cannot say enough good things about having a bulletin board. Not only is it an incredible way to visually organize everyday materials (contact sheets, logins & passwords, etc.), but it can also be decorated in a cute way to incorporate your personal aesthetic.

Pencil Cup, Office Pins and Clips Set, Stapler & Tape Dispenser – Elevating the look of your everyday tools will create a happier and cuter desk setup.

Candle – My new favorite candle that I have been burning in the afternoons as a pick-me-up.

In such unprecedented and uncertain times, many of us crave structure and routine. A personalized and established WFH space can help distinguish the line that is often blurred when being at home on and off the clock. Having a fully functioning and ~vibey~ working station will excite those who miss their morning commute, while motivating those of us who struggle to get out of bed and put pants on before our 10am zoom calls.
