Acids are an amazing addition to any skincare routine. Their main job is speeding up cell turnover which allows your face to produce new skin cells and slough off the dead ones. Even for someone with dry skin, there are so many benefits from incorporating the right acid for you into your routine. However, there is such thing as overdoing it! Always take note of how certain acids react with your skin. Side effects can include irritation and dry skin. Regardless of what acids you pick, make sure to introduce them gradually into your routine starting twice a week and increasing the frequency from there. It is also incredibly important to wear sunscreen daily when using acids because they make your skin more vulnerable to sun damage than normal.
