When I became a BeautyCounter consultant this summer, I was honestly pretty skeptical of the brand. I’d never really heard of it and was just looking for a way to stay busy over quarantine. However, I had multiple friends who swear by the brand so I figured I’d give it a try.
Let me tell you, I’ve tried some products that absolutely changed my skin and are now staples in my skin routine. But as a no-bullshit blog, I can also report back on some products that I’m not sure really did much. Since their products are all EWG certified, cruelty and paraben-free, they tend to be on the pricier side. So, I thought I’d whip up a good and bad list to help anyone interested in trying the brand know what’s worth putting your time and money into.
Amazing:
Countermatch Adaptive Moisturizer

I am freakin obsessed with this moisturizer. It’s made for acne prone skin so it’s super light and oil free. As the name implies, though, it’s super adaptive and can work for any skin regime, weather, skin type etc.
SOS Acne Spot Treatment

This shit is a lifesaver. I stole some from my roommate when I saw a big pimple pop up and it did miracles. No drying, no redness, just magic. I’ve purchased probably ten tubes since.
Counter + Charcoal Face Mask

Again, one for my fellow acne prone friends. This Charcoal face mask is so great at pulling out impurities, so I love to put it on after a long day of wearing my mask. It truly zaps all the pimples before they can even come to the surface.
Beyond Gloss

I’ve never once worn this lip gloss and not gotten complemented. It comes in tons of colors, doesn’t make your lips feel gooey or sticky and can last pretty much a whole night out.
Color Outline Eye Pencil

This eyeliner pencil is perfect for a smooth, long lasting color. It also includes a smudge tip, so you can easily perfect any line or smoke out the color.
Balancing Oil No. 3

This oil feels unreal and does wonders. I like to put it on after all my other steps but right before my moisturizer to help with hyperpigmentation and keep my skin clear and blemish free.

Not so worth it:
Ultra Renewal Eye Cream

Honestly, it’s nothing about this eye cream specifically that I don’t like, but more so eye cream in general. As dark circles from your eyes are typically shadows and eye creases are genetic, I just don’t really think it does much. I tried this one thinking I might like it since I liked so many of the brands other products but it just didn’t really do anything.
Countercontrol Pore Wash

This is one of the brands most popular products, definitely take my personal review with a grain of salt. What I didn’t love about this wash is that it has jojoba beads that physically exfoliate your skin. My face is super sensitive so I just didn’t love the harsh feeling that came with using this.
Countersun SPF Spray

I think my issue with this sunscreen is that I will always be forever loyal to Supergoop products. I didn’t love that this spray comes out white, and is pretty difficult to rub it in, unlike the clean one I had previously purchased from Supergoop which is just much lighter and less of a hastle.
