Save Your Eyes From the Screen With Blue Light Glasses

When I became an assistant last year, I quickly realized just how bad staring at a computer screen all day was for you. It took less than a week for me to begin experiencing horrible headaches at work, and I could tell immediately there was a direct correlation to me staring at the computer for hours on end and the pain I was feeling. Luckily for me, I did some research and discovered the benefits of blue light glasses.

Blue light glasses have grown increasingly popular to wear during exposure to a digital screen. Blue light glasses have specially crafted lenses that are said to block or filter out the blue light given off from screens. Approximately six and ten adults experience symptoms of digital eye strain after using devices for more than two hours. Symptoms of digital eye strain include headaches, blurry vision, and dry eyes.

Glasses that include blue-light filtering technology can help offset some of the symptoms associated with the prolonged use of digital devices. The lenses protect your eyes from glare and can help reduce potential damage to your retina from prolonged exposure to blue light.

I’m sure many of you can relate to having to sit in front of a screen all day, especially during covid times. Even if it’s not due to work, students are in front of a laptop all day and kids are in front of their phones and other electronic devices.

I cannot recommend purchasing a pair of these glasses enough. I went from getting headaches on a daily basis to little to none after wearing them regularly. You can find dozens of great pairs that are super affordable and cute all over the internet.  A few of my favorite include:
