Lazy Girl’s Guide to Taking Off Makeup

written by NOA DIAMOND. October 4th, 2020

By now we have told you countless times not only the importance of taking your makeup off before bed but taking it off using literally anything but makeup wipes.

Yes, I see the appeal of using makeup wipes. They are so easy, so quick and when all you’re wanting to do is get into bed after a night out they seem like the only choice. However, when we are upping our skincare game they are no longer an option! They are bad for your skin, they are bad for the environment, and they are destroying the skin around your eyes (the place people use makeup wipes the most). They may seem like they are breaking down your makeup, but they are certainly not cleansing your face.  And makeup remover should never require rubbing. So if you must, it’s okay to use them in certain circumstances when you’re on the go or out camping, but before bed, there is always time to ditch the wipes and reach for something that is all around better.

I consider myself to be a lazy girl through and through so I am going to tell you my favorite ways to take off my makeup before bed.

The quickest classic: Bidoerma Water $9.90

This stuff will get off the toughest of makeup without harming your delicate skin. It’s affordable, effective, and no fuss.

The classic elevated: Drunk Elephant Micellar Water $28

With vitamin E and antioxidants, this Drunk Elephant Micellar Water comes with a higher price tag but has the added benefits to justify it.

The fan-favorite: Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm $34

Watch as this balm melts away your makeup and washes away your impurities with it. It has the added benefit of gently exfoliating and leaving you hydrated without the oily feeling.

The budget balm: Banilo Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm $19

This balm is incredibly gentle and packed with vitamin C to keep your skin glowing even when the makeup is gone.
