The Bag Every Girl Needs

This fall, I started interning for a handbag company called Modern Picnic. I stumbled upon it from an internship website and was instantly obsessed after reading their story. The company was created two years ago when Ali Kaminetsky was working in retail at Macy’s. She wanted to bring her lunch to work, but didn’t want to waste plastic bags. However, there was no chic option for women’s lunchboxes on the market. She saw an opportunity. Just two years after graduating college, she created her own incredible company and now sells stylish, insulated purses to thousands of women all over the country. 

The bags are created with 100% vegan leather making them a great option for everyone and incredibly easy to clean. They have an insulated interior to hold your lunch, snacks and keep drinks cool all day. Hands down the best part of the products, though, are that from the outside they look like nothing more than a cute accessory to hold sunglasses and lip gloss. 

The variety is also unreal. Modern Picnic sells a snacker, the mini luncher, the luncher and the tote, all of which offer difference sizes for whatever look you’re going for. They have tons of colors including croc texture and some even come with the option of a bamboo handle. 

Although my MP purse is the chicest item in my closet, the company’s story in itself is enough to make you want to buy the product. As a young, female CEO, Kaminetsky serves as a great role model for any budding entrepreneur who is interested in fixing a problem in the market. The company also created an ambassador program so anyone looking for a community to join can connect with like minded individuals, along with getting promotions and fun goodies.
