My First Apartment Bedroom Finds

written by NOA DIAMOND. September 12th, 2020

This year is the first time I get to live in an apartment at college. While I have lived in a dorm for the past two years, an apartment represents so much more in terms of my adulthood. My dorm room had a very girly vibe to it. This year, I wanted to design something much more chic and neutral. I really love interior design so it’s always enjoyable picking out new decorations each year. I am obsessed with how my room turned out and wanted to share my favorite pieces with you.

white comforter

Bedding: I opted for a simple, white comforter from Wayfair. I am so sick of duvet covers moving around and looking wanky so I am really happy I made the switch. Wayfair has tons of great comforters and their items are always on sale.

Throw Pillows: I chose three fairly large pillows for my bed. I like the look of having fewer big ones rather than more small ones. I got two of this simple, white square pillow (on sale now!) and one of this gorgeous textured lumbar pillow in the color neutral.

Throw Blanket: I have been wanting a throw from Barefoot Dreams for so long and this year I finally decided to get one. I already had the bathrobe and basically live in it, so I knew it would be a good investment for me. I got this blanket in the color stone which is currently sold out.

Mirror: With only a mirror in my bathroom, I knew I wanted to get something fairly large in my room. I thought about getting a standing mirror until I saw this gorgeous gold framed circle mirror also from Wayfair. It is by far my favorite piece in my room and it is the perfect size on my wall.

Framed Prints: When deciding which prints to purchase I wanted to make sure I really loved them and that they were neutral enough to work in future apartments. I got two 20×26 framed prints above my bed by the same artist. The first one is called Summer Readding II and the second is called On The Steps. I also got this cool abstract print in 10×12.

wicker basket

Wicker Basket: I felt the corner of my room needed to have something to fill the empty space so I opted for this cute wicker basket. I use it to hold my yoga mat and throw pillows when I am not using them.

beige-colored curtain

Curtains: The window in my room is 8 feet tall and comes with a see-through shade so not getting a curtain was not an option. I found this velvety, beige-colored curtain that really ties the neutral theme of my room together.

white rug

Rug: I debated for a while about whether on not I wanted to get a rug. The carpet in my room is a fine dark grey color, but it is not the most comfortable to walk on. I ended up getting a very simple white rug to go under my bed.
