How to Achieve Healthier Hair With Hair Turbans

written by NOA DIAMOND. September 9th, 2020

When your hair is wet it is at its most vulnerable. Using a towel to dry wet hair will lead to damage, split ends, and frizz. Terry cloth is not meant to be used on hair, just bodies!

There is also no need to be using a bath towel to dry your hair anymore when so many brands are making towels specifically for hair. Their special fabrics won’t pull or harm your hair. In a pinch, I would even use a cotton t-shirt to dry my hair before using my towel. Blow dryers are also not meant to fully dry your hair from sopping wet. They are great for styling, but that much time with heat on your hair can cause damage to your strands.

Here are our favorite hair turbans out there right now:

The budget-friendly: Turbie Twist $9.99

I have been using the classic Turbie Twist for years. It’s truly the ol reliable. It always leaves my hair feeling silky after use. Plus it’s simple to use and super light-weight.

The Scrunchie

Best for overnight use: The Scrunchie $18

I was skeptical at first to purchase this product for my long, thick hair. I was shocked to see how quickly absorbent the scrunchie was. It was also able to stay in my hair overnight. This is a great choice for those who don’t like the look of a classic hair turban.

Aquis

The OG: Aquis $30

Aquis was one of the first brands to come out with a hair turban and they have perfected it. It’s made of a proprietary moisture-wicking material, good for any hair length and thickness, and promotes healthy hair.

Luxe Beauty

Best for long hair: Luxe Beauty $12

Some people find the appeal of a towel to be that it fits all of their hair. When my hair used to be down to my butt, it wouldn’t fit in the classic Turbie Twist. The Luxe Beauty turban is designed for those specifically with long hair in mind. It also has a super plush texture so it will never cause friction.
