I think it’s safe to say that you know more than one person who owns a pair of Golden Goose sneakers. They have quickly become a must-have and fashion staple in girls’ wardrobes all over the world. Considering one pair of sneakers costs hundreds of dollars, I was very hesitant for years about buying a pair of my own. I even went so far as to purchase some and then return them because I convinced myself it was ridiculous that I was spending that much on a shoe as a young adult.
When I went to Italy last summer, however, I found myself in a GG store and ended up walking out with two pairs (where they are significantly cheaper). And I am so beyond glad that I did. Over a year later, these shoes look just like they did on the day I purchased them and remain my favorite sneakers in my closet. They are so durable and comfortable and truly dress up any outfit. These sneakers never wear down or deteriorate on the bottoms. They are made to last a lifetime, which is why they cost so much. So yes, if you want my opinion, these shoes are indeed worth the hype. This is an investment piece that is 100% worth the investment.
What makes Golden Goose stand out from other designer sneakers is that they have a shoe for everyone. Some people like big, bold colors and prints while others rather wear a more understated and simple design. And unlike brands like Gucci and YSL, which also make sneakers, these shoes are known for their “dirty” exterior look, which is featured on a majority of their shoes and adds to their timeless feel and lifetime durability. I personally like the more casual look because I think it goes with more and makes it a more versatile shoe.
