I first decided to try using Quip when my favorite podcaster, Jackie Schimmel, advertised her promo code for the toothbrush. My former electric toothbrush was getting old, and the long cord and charging stand had been getting on my nerves for a while. Of course, I also did my own research before purchasing the product to see if it was worth the hype.
I found that Quip prides itself on being a cheap, simple, and convenient alternative to the standard electric toothbrush. Its sleek design along with the three-month subscription plan eliminated the need for a charging stand altogether. The reviews seemed overwhelmingly positive, so I decided to order the starter kit.
When the box arrived it contained the toothbrush, Quip toothpaste, and a stand that can be attached to any mirror. The first time I used the brush I was genuinely confused. I expected stronger vibrations and I couldn’t tell if it was doing the job. I also did not enjoy the toothpaste whatsoever. Both the flavor and texture were disappointing. However, I decided since I had already spent the money, I would keep trying it for that week. I found like any new product, there will be an adjustment period to figuring out how to best use it. Overall, I am really happy I stuck it out.
I have now been using Quip for about 10 months and I don’t plan on ending my subscription anytime soon. Quip is unlike any toothbrush on the market because after every three months, you will receive a new battery pack and brush head in the mail for only $5. The battery has enough juice to last exactly three months with brushing for four minutes every day. It also ensures that you are maintaining good dental hygiene by sending a new brush head so you are never using one for more than the recommended time period of three months.
If you found yourself being at all intrigued by Quip like I was, definitely go ahead and make the purchase. But save yourself the money and opt to not buy the toothpaste!
