Summer Smoothie Bowl Recipe

My favorite tip for healthy eating is to swap in a green smoothie at breakfast. Smoothies are such an easy and delicious way to squeeze more fruits and veggies into your diet. There are so many variations, too many to cover on just our website alone, so I’ll dedicate this post to covering one recipe I absolutely love and have stuck to almost every morning since freshman year of high school. Lately, I’ve been loving my smoothies as creamy bowls so I can add endless toppings, but if you play around with the proportions you can make it into a drink. Here is my go-to smoothie bowl!

For the Base:

1 cup frozen spinach

1 cup frozen kale

½ frozen banana

1 scoop protein powder (I’m currently loving LivWell Vanilla Bean Protein Blend – it’s vegan, GF and free of heavy metals which really hard to find in plant based protein powders)

½ cup nut based milk (I used Malk Unsweetened Almond)

4 ice cubes

Toppings:

Whatever you want! Above I did…

Cacao nibs

Chia seeds

Blueberries

Toasted coconut shreds

Toasted almonds, cashews, pecans
