Missing your eyebrow lady extra these days? Us too. With salons and spas closing back down, we feel your need for those overdue facials and waxing treatments. Since we don’t know how much longer until we can return to our beloved estheticians, we’ve compiled some temporary fixes until we can get a proper clean-up.  To make your life a little bit better, and a little less hairy, we’ve put together the at-home hair removal tools that we’ve been loving.

Flawless Razor

Flawless Razor ($19.88)

A gift sent from heaven above, the Flawless Razor ($19.88) makes up in miracles what it lacks in size. This tiny little tool sloughs off everything from peach fuzz on the cheeks to the un-threaded lady mustache we’ve all come to dread. With enough precision, it can also be used to get in between the eyebrows and some of the hair around. The hair comes off seamlessly with no pain and contrary to popular belief, does not come back as darker, more visible stubble. This is a great way to dip your toe into the face shaving pool because it doesn’t feel like you are really shaving. The hair even magically disappears right into the bottom of the razor where you don’t have to see it. Make sure you’re cleaning it out after every few uses!

Dermaplane

Before I started using a dermaplane I used the Flawless Razor. I was always a little too nervous to try it because it looks much more like a real razor than the electric ones and it seemed weird to be directly shaving my face. But, once I tried this I won’t go back. I think I like it even more than I like getting threaded. It is so simple to use and gives me a much cleaner shave than the Flawless Razor. All you do is small swiping motions upwards starting at the bottom of your face all the way to the top. I do this after I wash my face at night and before I start applying my products about once a week or as needed. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin because shaving your face actually exfoliates the dead skin at the same time. Having a hairless face also makes it easier for your products to penetrate through the skin. I got my dermaplane ($6.96) from Amazon and it came in a pack of three!

Self-Sugaring Kit

We discovered the first at-home sugaring kit from our favorite LA salon Sugaring LA. If you’ve never tried sugaring, let alone heard of it, don’t worry, you’re not alone. This form of hair removal is similar to waxing. The esthetician will apply a warm coat of the wax which is made of sugar and honey, and then remove it in the same direction of hair growth to prevent ingrowns and promote exfoliation for a healthy afterglow. With salons closed and our bikini, armpit, and leg waxes all screaming our name, Sugaring LA has put together an at-home kit for curbside pick up or nationwide shipping. The kit ($35) comes with all the tools you need and instructions can be found on the salons Instagram page
